Discover Poland (day 1) - Krakow

Discover Poland’s ancient royal capital, a home for many famous local and international writers, artists and thinkers. UNESCO lists it as one of the world’s twelve most significant historic sites!

Arrival to Krakow airport or Krakow railway station.

Private transfer to 3*hotel (central located) in Krakow. Accommodation in a twin/double room on B&B basis for 2 nights.

Leisure time.

Krakow is the most important city in polish history and is located in South Poland. It is also the capital of the ‘Malopolska’ region that compromises of the Tatra Mountain range.

Krakow was Poland’s ancient royal capital, and has been a home for many famous local and international writers, artists and thinkers. UNESCO lists it as one of the world’s twelve most significant historic sites!

Here you can visit the most striking royal residences in Europe such as Wawel Castle or the medieval ‘Sukiennice’, being a vast cloth hall which is a great place for shopping if you are after amber jewellery or thick hand-woven woollen sweaters. The Old Town with its many squares, gothic, renaissance and baroque style buildings offer many hours of sightseeing, shopping or simply an array of places where to have some food or drinks.

Day 2 Krakow, Wieliczka salt mine,

A private sightseeing tour of the Krakow’s Historic Centre and the Old Town including the Wawel Hill, city gates and Jewish district -Kazimierz. (Aprox. 3 hrs).

Time free for lunch.

In the afternoon private transfer to the Salt Mine –Wieliczka- the oldest salt mine in Europe listed on the list of UNESCO.A guided tour inside ( aprox.3 hrs).

The ’’ Wieliczka’’- mine has operated continuously since its construction in the Middle Ages. Today it reaches a depth of more than one thousand feet on nine levels with close to one hundred ninety miles of corridors, galleries, chambers and underground lakes. The mine currently has three distinct functions: as an active, working mine, as the world's first subterranean therapeutic sanitarium used in the treatment of bronchial and allergic asthma, and as an important tourist attraction for visitors to Krakow.

People who tour the mine visit only the first three levels, along a winding route of nearly two miles. As they follow the subterranean paths, they wander past artistic salt carvings and the 17th century solid salt St. Anthony chapel, the oldest original creation in the mine.

Afterwards a private transfer to Krakow.

 

Day 3 the Polish capital of Tatra Mountains-Zakopane.

Poland is a wonderful place for many outdoor activities and winter sport is probably top of the list. This comes as no surprise as Poles have the highest and largest mountain system in Central Europe at their feet – the Carpathian Mountains. Already well established amongst the locals those ski resorts- Zakopane-Poland’s Winter Capital. Although Zakopane is known mainly as a tourist and winter sports centre, it also plays an important role in Polish culture. Before the First World War it was visited by the most famous people of divided Poland. After the war many artists decided to settle down here. The Tatras attracted such famous musicians, writers and artists as Ignacy Paderewski, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Karol Szymanowski, Stanislaw Witkiewicz, his son Stanislaw, Ignacy and many others.

Day 4 Tatra Mountains Kasprowy Wierch

A ride on Kasprowy Wierch (1957m) by funicular railway to admire the beautiful panoramic views of Tatra Mountains and Tatra National Park.

Kasprowy Wierch - the most popular "ski mountain" in Poland, 1987m. above sea level. The location of Kasprowy Wierch almost in the middle of the Tatra Mountains' range offers the possibility to admire the Tatra Mountains and to do one of the most beautiful sports - skiing and snowboard. Except for the cabin railway running all year long especially for skiers there are also two chair-lifts in a valley of Goryczkowa and Gasienicowa.

Time for lunch at a hostel located at the top of ‘’Kasprowy Wierch’’. Return to the Valley.

In the afternoon a walk through the most famous street in Zakopane -Krupówki Street –a good place to get some local products including famous ‘’ OSCYPKI’’-a smoked goat cheese, pickled mushrooms, mulled wine, wooden crafts, leather gloves, belts, jackets or woolen socks!

A table reservation for an evening meal in a local traditional restaurant./Usually there is a local folk band playing some local tunes/.

Day 5 Zamosc

Check out in the morning and private transfer to Zamosc- the Pearl of Reneissance (listed on UNESCO).

Zamosc was founded in the year 1580 by the Chancellor and Hetman (head of the army of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) Jan Zamoyski, on the trade route linking western and northern Europe with the Black Sea. Modelled on Italian trading cities, and built during the Baroque period by the architect Bernardo Morando, a native of Padua, Zamosc remains a perfect example of a Renaissance town of the late 16th century, which retains its original layout and fortifications (Zamość Fortress), and a large number of buildings blending Italian and central European architectural traditions. The Old City quarter of Zamosc has been placed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Discover Poland (day 6) - Warsaw city arrival

Check out in the morning and private transfer to Warsaw.

A private tour with a local guide of the Old Town and the Royal Palace.

Warsaw is the capital of Poland and is located in the heart of the country by the biggest river, Vistula. Being Poland’s most cosmopolitan, dynamic and interesting city, it comes dotted with luxury hotels, elegant shops, great parks and modern architecture.

The city offers you a mixture of Stalinist structures such as the giant Palace of Culture and Science which was a gift of friendship from the Soviet Union to the Polish nation and was built in 1950, cannot be missed! Here you can go to the 30th floor where there is a viewing terrace, which gives you a great view over the city. Further, you can find lots of historic monuments of the WWII, such as the Warsaw Ghetto that was made famous by Roman Polanskis film ‘the Pianist’. The booming New Town needs to be seen as well as you would not want to miss the Polish Champs Elysee! You will also need to take advantage of the Old Town with its Royal 14th Century Castle, the charming park/palace complex of Lazienki and Wilanow or discover a treasure trove of art at the National Museum.

Day 7 Gdansk

Check out in the morning. Private transfer to Gdansk. ( Aprox 5 hrs).

A private sightseeing tour of historical city of Gdansk including:the Artus Court, Neptune Fontain, St Mary’s Church- the biggest Gothic church in Poland,

Gdansk is one of the best preserved cities in Poland offering plenty to its visitors. There are beautiful Churches, the main Town Hall, Dluga Street (where you can find lots of restaurants, cafes and be surrounded by an array of merchant houses). The city itself used to be a trading empire and actually still is! Be sure to purchase some Amber which is still collected by locals on the nearby coast.

During the summer period Gdansk is filled with Polish and foreign holidaymakers making the most of local festivals that the people of Gdansk put on. The most popular ones are ‘The Dominican Fair’ and ‘St. Nicola’s Fair’

Day 8 Gdansk

Departure for a morning organ concert in the Oliwa Cathedral. The XVI th century organ case is unique in the world and is considered one of the largest cases world wide. Its beautiful sound attracts visitors from over the world.

Return to Gdansk and time free for leisure.

Day 9 Malbork Castle

Check out and private transfer to Toruń Via Malbork Castle - the Teutonic Castle in Malbork, the biggest Gothic stronghold of medieval Europe, registered on the list of UNESCO.

Arrival to Toruń in the afternoon.

Day 10 Torun

A private sightseeing tour of the Old Town of Torun with our local guide.

Come and discover Torun for yourself. Witness the unchanged unique layout of streets of Torun Old Town, the medieval part of the city, Nicolas Copernicus' birth house, the silent arches of St. Johns Cathedral or the restplace of Princess Anna Wazówna in Saint Mary Church.

Day 11 Discover Poland - Wroclaw

A walk with a quide through the oldest part of Wroclaw, the island Ostrow Tumski, the Old Town Market Squere, a cathedral of St John Baptist's, Wroclaw Uniwersity, sightseeing the Museum Panorama of Racławice - the most significant town attraction.

Wroclaw can be found in the Silesia region which is located in the south-west of Poland. It is the fourth largest city in Poland and you can find multinational influences all over wonderful Wroclaw. May it be huge Germanic churches, Flemish –style Renaissance mansions, palaces or chapels of Viennese Baroque, it is all there for you to see. Add a superb setting on the river banks of the Odra and you have a fantastic city break destination, which is still virtually undiscovered.

A time free for lunch/relax/shopping.
